Pick your best tasteful pieces, that you feel would suit the restaurant, and then approach the owner, during the daytime when he/she is likely to be there planning the day, and talk to him/her about the idea of hanging your art  maybe give him/her some idea of where you were thinking it should go, so as to take the guess work out of the equation, and make the owner feel like its not another project he has to deal with!

Come up with a deal, that he/she gets a percentage of the sale, and then make sure you give him/her your business cards and brochures, and also that there is a business card with the price of the piece with the piece. Do not put a great big read “for sale” sign on the piece!, you need something subtle and tasteful, possibly in the bottom right corner of the piece. If you have 3D creations that need to be on a shelf, then make sure your business card is attached with the price written on the back neatly or typed on..

Thanksgiving Crafts for Kids

Thanksgiving crafts for kids are a great way to learn more about the holiday and show off their creative flair at the same time. These crafts can be easily adapted to all ages and skill levels. They are also perfect to use as centerpieces for the Thanksgiving table! To get started, make sure to place newspaper on top of your crafting table to keep things neat and tidy, and encourage your kids to get creative!

Paper Cornucopias

To get started, roll the paper plate into a cone shape, securing with tape. Make sure you bend the end of the cone a little to make it look authentic. Have your kids decorate the outside of the cornucopia with markers, crayons, paint, and even stickers and glitter. Slip a coffee filter into the wide end, and have your kids fill it with candies, nuts and dried fruit.

Leaf Prints

Place a leaf under a sheet of paper–you may have to hold the paper and leaf steady if your child is too young to manage by herself.

Rub the crayon over the paper to bring out the leaf design. This technique is called a “rubbing” and can be used with a variety of objects that have interesting texture.

Pine Cone Turkeys

If you get your pine cones by going on a nature walk, place them on a cookie sheet and bake them in the oven at 200 degrees for 45 minutes to kill any insects or mites.

Stack 3-4 pieces of construction paper, then trace your child’s hand. Cut around your child’s hand print, and fan the hands out slightly. This will work as the turkey’s tail. Glue to the blunt end of the pine cone using craft glue.

On a piece of red construction paper, draw the turkey’s head and cut out. Draw eyes and a beak on it. You can do this freehand, or find a pattern online. Glue the head to the front of the pine cone. You can also add wiggly eyes from a craft store if you prefer.

Handprint Turkeys

This is the simplest of Thanksgiving crafts, but it’s a lot of fun to do!

Have your child dip his hand into brown paint. Place his hand on the piece of paper. Once the paint dries, you can draw a beak, eyes, and turkey legs using a marker.

These Thanksgiving crafts will keep your little ones occupied and provide a whimsical addition to your holiday décor! They also make excellent keepsakes for your guests.

Polyester resins are unsaturated resins formed by the reaction of dibasic organic acids and polyhydric alcohols. Polyesters resins are used in sheet moulding compound, bulk moulding compound and the toner of laser printers.

Unsaturated polyesters are condensation polymers formed by the reaction of polyols (also known as polyhydric alcohols), organic compounds with multiple alcohol or hydroxy functional groups, with saturated or unsaturated dibasic acids. Typical polyols used are glycols such as ethylene glycol; acids used are phthalic acid and maleic acid. Water, a by-product of esterification reactions, is continuously removed, driving the reaction to completion. The use of unsaturated polyesters and additives such as styrene lowers the viscosity of the resin. The initially liquid resin is converted to a solid by cross-linking chains. This is done by creating free radicals at unsaturated bonds, which propagate in a chain reaction to other unsaturated bonds in adjacent molecules, linking them in the process. The initial free radicals are induced by adding a compound that easily decomposes into free radicals. This compound is usually and incorrectly known as the catalyst. Substances used are generally organic peroxides such as benzoyl peroxide.

Polyester resins are thermosetting and, as with other resins, cure exothermically. The use of excessive catalyst can, therefore, cause charring or even ignition during the curing process. Excessive catalyst may also cause the product the fracture or form a rubbery material.
